The Instructional Supervisor (IS) is an educational leader within K12's The Keystone School and plays a key role in supporting the school's mission. The IS consistently measures student engagement, student progress, and student achievement; and regularly analyzes individual teacher effectiveness and student performance. The IS reports to the Head of School. The IS serves as a core source of knowledge in middle school and high school curricula, Keystone Credit Recovery, and national educational trends and initiatives.

AS AN INSTRUCTIONAL SUPERVISOR, YOU WILL...

• Serve as the core source of knowledge in Keystone middle and upper level curricula, Keystone Credit Recovery, and national educational trends and initiatives.
• Support a school culture and climate conducive to effective teaching and learning
• Assist with ongoing evaluation of the curriculum and its development to meet the needs of students
• Support a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment
• Teach one or more courses in the area of content certification
• Serve as the direct supervisor for teachers within an assigned core curriculum area
• Recruit, screen, recommend for hiring, train, and supervise the instructional staff of The Keystone School, including full, part time, and substitute teachers
• Develop and maintain new faculty training and mentoring materials
• Provide day-to-day operational management of assigned teachers
• Assign, supervise, motivate, support, and direct faculty as per Service Level Agreements
• Measure, monitor and recommend adjustments to teaching loads across all Keystone programs
• Establish and maintain accurate and complete instructional personnel records, including education, certification, experience, and performance
• Lead regular department meetings
• Ensure the implementation and observance of all educational policies, procedures, and guidelines for faculty
• Complete regular faculty performance appraisals
• Create and manage reports which measure student engagement, student progress, and student achievement
• Assist with any student/parent escalation issues
• Provide instructional and motivational guidance for students
• Provide leadership in choosing supplemental services beneficial to students
• Collaborate with Learning Coaches, Guidance, and teachers to address academic and social needs of students
• Support the ongoing professional development of teachers through the creation and delivery of training and mentoring programs
• Participate in the development of faculty in-service programs
• Support the delivery of appropriate instructional approaches
• Research current subject matter knowledge and learning theory
• Position requires a high degree of adaptability. Individual will encounter a variety of issues on a day-to-day basis and will be expected to respond to these issues promptly and appropriately.

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning. Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• MUST LIVE WITH COMMUTING DISTANCE OF BLOOMSBURG PA
• 3+ years teaching experience
• Master's degree and/or professional experience in subject area
• Pennsylvania State teaching certification
• Meets State 's NCLB's Highly Qualified Teacher requirements
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience in a customer service environment
• Strong written/verbal communication skills
• Flexible schedule The ideal teacher candidates will also have:
• Several years' experience in public or private school setting preferred
• Experience working with/for distance education providers and educational technology
• Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
• An ability to support and guide adults as well as students
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development and educational programs
• Strong supervisory skills
• Strong interviewing and hiring skills
• Ability to anticipate potential problems in planning and implementing programs
• Ability to work in the Bloomsburg, PA office 5 days per week
