The Corporate Communications Junior Associate/Intern is responsible for creating and managing content that supports K12's public relations efforts. We're looking for a skilled writer to showcase students, families, teachers, employees and schools that are a part of the online education programs offered by K12. The intern contributes directly to the success of the Corporate Communications department, performing essential media metrics analysis and reporting, social media management, and media pitching. This is a paid hourly position.
AS Corporate Communications Junior Associate/Intern, YOU WILL..
  • Interview students, families, educators and other school stakeholders, for written pieces and media pitching
  • Write for K12's corporate blog, covering school and student success stories, corporate events and more
  • Assist with management of K12 Corporate Communications team's social media presence
  • Actively pitch media on school events and other stories; includes email and phone correspondence with reporters and news desks nationwide
  • Process incoming earned media coverage by posting to a variety of external-facing websites and social media platforms, while tracking metrics on a weekly and quarterly basis for Corporate Communications team and senior leadership
  • Update company intranet site and external websites
  • Assist the team with day-to-day administrative and operational duties, as assigned

Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA
  • Completed or working towards a college degree in Communications, English or other relevant field
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships across the organization
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Strong creativity
  • Results/action-orientation; project management skills
  • Unquestionable personal code of ethics, integrity, diversity and trust
