Continuous Improvement Resource Coordinator

Continuous improvement is executed in a cycle to plan, implement, assess and adjust strategies to achieve desired outcomes. Practitioners evaluate themselves against best practices, determine their priorities and goals, and develop action plans which address the root cause(s) for the gap in desired outcomes that may exist for each priority area. At the school level, the Continuous Improvement Work Plans (CIWP) satisfy State of Illinois and Federal requirements for schools' continuous improvement planning.

The Continuous Improvement Resource Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Manager of Data Strategy by managing the development of materials, resources, and presentations for all levels of Continuous Improvement . Duties include the management of all Continuous Improvement technical platforms, assisting in monitoring implementation of Continuous Improvement, developing and managing training videos and resources, lias with platform vendors, producing regular reports, knowledge base updates, and new staff on-boarding. The Resource Coordinator should also be able to assist in the development and management of project schedules.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Strategy - Assist in the development of strategy to help transition schools and departments from plan development to implementation and management

  • Training - Development and implementation of high-quality training to all stakeholders that elicits an investment in the tool as a lever for change and builds capacity for continuous improvement in schools. Manage continued learning training clinics and supports based on analysis of school/network/department engagement in components of continuous improvement process and cycle. Requires an understanding of both improvement science and adult learning.

  • Communication - Communicate the vision for continuous improvement, required deadlines, and ongoing monitoring strategies. Develops plan for communication using multiple mediums including webinars, website updates and weekly memos

  • Reporting - Development and maintenance of regular reports for district on the implementation of Continuous Improvement for impact.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Data Strategy



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree, experience in project management strongly preferred

  • At least three years of professional experience, preferably related to education and/or strategy

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement models and problem-solving models

  • Ability to use project management skills and tools to plan, execute and evaluate a project with internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills

  • Ability to work independently to manage multiple work streams while balancing competing priorities with attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills, including communication documents for a wide range of audiences

  • The ability to analyze, synthesize and interpret data sets, identify issues and opportunity, monitor effectiveness of implementation, and adjust

  • Experience coaching to help impact personal and/or project development and outcome

  • Is flexible and can function effectively in ambiguity

  • The ability to receive, internalize and respond to feedback from department leadership, manager, colleagues, and external partners



Residency Requirement: As a condition of employment with Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district
