Position Objectives:

Teach students a solid foundation for the Hospitality industry. Teach students the fundamentals of gaining a career in the Hospitality industry ranging from hotel hospitality, event planning and hosting to restaurant hospitality essentials. Instructor must be proactive in the Denver Hospitality industry in gaining essential partnerships and/or student internship opportunities. Students will be prepared to enter the Hospitality industry upon graduation from the program.

Essential Functions:

• Teach assigned courses.

• Teach all standards and requirements outlined in the individual course syllabi and program approval.

• Team teaches with other instructors and coordinate student learning activities.

• Teach adults and postsecondary education option students (PSEO) ages 17 and older.

• Serve as model in demonstrating correct human relation skills for students to emulate.

• Write unit lesson plans, daily lesson plans, and various written and performance assessments.

• Maintain program compliance with program approval.

• Market program to agencies, businesses, and students.

• Communicate patiently and respectfully to students, staff and parents/guardians.

• Maintain appropriate inventory for all program equipment, materials and supplies.

• Maintain and accurately report all student grades using appropriate software systems used by the school.

• Maintain all student records, and take daily attendance.

• Attend and participate in faculty, departmental, advisory committee, and other professional meetings.

• Participate in professional development activities.

• Maintain discipline and enforce rules of conduct and behavior in accordance with school policy.

• Supervise and maintain the cleanliness of the classroom/massage clinic.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Instructional Dean and program Supervisor.

Education & Experience:

Required:

• F ive (5) years wage earning experience in a related occupation within the preceding 10 years.

• Broad knowledge of techniques and practices used in the related industry.

• Hospitality Certificate/Education, Bachelor Degree Preferred.

• Workplace training and/or instructional experience preferred

• Must be ServSafe Certified or willing to become ServSafe Certified with internal training.
