QUALIFICATIONS:

• Appropriate New York State teaching certification (Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6 or Special Education Grades 1-6)
• Ability to work as a member of a collaborative team to design, deliver and assess high quality lessons to secondary students with diverse learning needs
• Excellent written, verbal and listening skills
• Up-to date knowledge and understanding of the Next Generation Learning Standards
• Possess an understanding of the transition process and opportunities for students entering adulthood
• Understanding of, and the ability to contribute to the writing of IEP's, FBA's and CIP's
• Knowledge and understanding of the identification of student-specific data collection and use to inform instructional planning and decisions
• Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention preferred
• Prior teaching experience preferred
