Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED, or Proficiency Certificate for Teacher Associates; MANDT trained (must be willing to obtain certification); successful working with students who have significant behavior problems; Implement Individual Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) as directed; support and implement building/classroom management systems; utilize verbal de-escalation skills and strategies; assist students in developing appropriate classroom behavior skills; maintain appropriate records and documentation; effectively manages classroom and provides behavioral support; teach appropriate behavior as needed; contribute to a positive school climate; excellent classroom management skills; exhibit patience, tolerance, persistence, flexibility, organization, sense of humor, and enthusiasm for everyday challenges; willing to go above and beyond to help students and their families, other teachers, other adults in the building, etc.; flexibility and the ability to work with a variety of staff members; excellent record of attendance; Certified in Mandt or CPI or be willing to get the training; familiar with Positive Behavior Supports; model appropriate and respectful behavior; competent in technology; competent with Google Docs; positive and productive interactions with students and staff; self-directed, self-motivated and ability to complete tasks independently; organized thinker and problem solver in order to know what needs to be done next without direct supervision or verbal direction; reliable and task finisher; trustworthy to students, staff, supervisor and district expectations.
