The School District of Clayton is seeking an instructional intern for Glenridge Elementary School for the 2019-2020 school year. Successful candidates will be academically talented, use a variety of teaching strategies, have the ability to recognize individual needs, and exhibit sensitivity for all students. Instructional Interns provide support to the classroom teacher.
We are seeking child-centered teaching professionals, with a strong sense of mission, and a broad base of knowledge in pedagogy, who understand the academic, social, and emotional needs of children.
The Successful Candidate:
Provides support to the classroom teacher and assists with teaching the District curriculum as outlined in the curriculum documents
Demonstrates appropriate long and short term preparation for classroom instruction and assists with the preparation of materials that support the student's learning
Uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to assist the classroom teacher in maximizing the learning of each child, individually and in group settings
Assists with the assessment of student progress and the use of the results to adjust instruction as needed
Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested by supervising administrator(s)
Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
Certification: Missouri Elementary Teaching Certificate, Special Reading Certificate and/or Mathematics Certificate preferred. Missouri Substitute Certificate required.
Experience: Preferred.
Compensation: $25,000.00/year.
