Job Description / Essential Elements:

Principal duties include oversight of a 2nd-8th grade small school setting of less then 250 students. Must be able to supervise employees including teaching staff. Must be able to work with parents and the community. Must have experience with student discipline and the development of effective procedures. Must be able to manage multiple task and follow protocols. Must be creative and willing to move the school toward a higher academic achievement status. Must have a passion to work with children.

Requirements for Applying

California Administrative Service Credential required, with 2 years experience as Principal in High School.

Minimum Qualifications:

Any combination or equivalent to: Master's Degree and three years of classroom
experience, or experience in pupil personnel services. Teaching experience is preferred.
Licenses and Other Requirements: Must have an Administrative Services Credential
Of current enrollment in an Administrative Services program. A clear teaching or Pupil
Personnel Credential.

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Ability to organize and coordinate pilot programs, goals and objectives.
• Knowledge of School Law Administration and mandated state laws.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of administration, supervision and training.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of curriculum evaluation and computer operations.
• Knowledge of school climate and discipline.
• Ability to analyze situations and adopt a course of action.
