Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Training in Specialized Behavior Management.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience working with appropriate aged students.
  • Familiar with laws and regulations governing education in Vermont, specifically Special Education Laws.
  • Good basic computer skills and experience with word processing programs. Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to effectively, efficiently and regularly communicate and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals, including students, peers, subordinates, supervisors, parents, and representatives of outside organizations.
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflicts and handle stress.


Essential Duties including, but on limited to:
  • Support the referral process and help adequately assess a students need for alternative education;
  • Coordinate with the guidance department, programming, study plans, career readiness, college inquiry, transcripts review, credit recovery, etc;
  • Conduct observations of potential students for the program in their high school setting;
  • Support students transitioning to tech center programming or programming back into the mainstream high school setting;
  • Support in accessing outside resources to implement personalized learning plans or interest bsed learning oportunities; and
  • Support students in accessing resources at the high school and in the community to best meet their learning needs.
