Job Summary
Monitors activities, projects and initiatives. Ensures that all activities and programs are measurable and include a plan for how to evaluate success. Provides support in achieving programmatic effectiveness in the operational aspects.
Essential Functions
Office of Capital Planning
  • Provides operational support for all components under the aegis of the Comprehensive School Planning Review (CSPR) initiative.
  • Leads all aspects of planning and coordinating committees and Comprehensive School Planning Review (CSPR) meetings.
  • Maintains excellent records of all initiative activities, reports, surveys evaluations, annual program evaluations, and communications.
  • Collaborates with managers of Comprehensive School Planning Review (CSPR) initiatives to define performance goals, set targets, and develop project timelines and milestones to help reach performance goals of CSPR initiatives.
  • Assists with the resolution of complex procedural issues and provides support for specialized research efforts.
  • Provides problem-solving support to initiative managers and helps ensure that input and feedback from internal and external stakeholders is solicited and incorporated.
  • Supports initiative managers to identify risks, strategize solutions, and develop plans to address identified issues in order to maintain initiative/project momentum.
  • Monitors the facilitation of regular project meetings among management involved in implementing and evaluating initiatives for purposes of progress monitoring, program review, and program improvement.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of full-time, paid, professional experience in program management and implementation, community engagement or overseeing components of administrative operations in a large organization.
OR
  • Any combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.
  • All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • The School District of Philadelphia.
  • The principals, practices, and procedures underlying coordination of large-scale projects and initiatives.

Demonstrated ability to:
  • organize and execute meeting and events, adhering to timelines and teamwork.
  • analyze complex problems and create viable solutions.

  • make cogent decisions and recommendations as needed.
  • prioritize and manage competing assignments.
    • maintain records and prepare reports.
    • work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as initiative's outreach events dictate.
    • have reliable transportation as position requires frequent local travel.
    • maintain discretion regarding confidential matters.
    • use a personal computer.
    • communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • establish and maintain effective relationships.
