ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Prospect Valley is a warm and wonderful K through 5th grade neighborhood school serving approximately 440 students, with 60% choice enrollment. We have a focus on helping all students grow and develop their full potential through rigorous academics, strong arts, physical education and enrichment programs, as well as supporting social-emotional development. We are the proud recipients of the 2014 and 2017 Governors Distinguished Improvement Award. Our staff is talented, dedicated and parents appreciate our welcoming environment and caring culture.

We have high behavioral expectations and are a PBIS school with structures that honor and reinforce our core values and positive behavior. We systemically teach the Second Step curriculum to help our students successfully acquire social/emotional skills.

We support a strong and dynamic GT program with students currently creating robotic hands, researching and creating tiny houses, creating experiments on flotation and buoyancy, building projects on sustainable energy systems and creating their own adventure stories.

One of the strengths of our school is the incredible parent support and involvement and our school culture embraces and values all community members. We offer over 30 extra-curricular activities for our students and are a Jeffco Healthy School with an outdoor classroom and school garden.

We joyfully strive to fulfill our mission to provide a safe, fun, academically-focused environment that promotes a love of learning and encourages students to think critically, work collaboratively and feel confident advocating for themselves and others so that they have a successful future.
