    SUMMARY: Provide a warm and safe environment for infants while teen parents attend class. Supervise student aides while in nursery.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    D 20% Feed children (prepare bottle).
    D 20% Change diapers.
    D 15% Supervise student aides as needed.
    D 10% Note and report children's behavior, illness and injuries.
    D 10% Sanitize and clean designated areas (include laundry).
    D 10% Supervise instructional and play activities both indoor and outdoor.
    D 10% Prepare infant room for days activities.
    M 3% Attend District meetings and training as directed.
    A 1% Assume Director's duties in Director's absence (cooking lunch, sending teen parents to class on time).
    Ongoing 1% Perform other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING High school diploma or equivalent,
    One of the following:
    • 5 years of verifiable full-day supervised experience in the care of children under the age of 3 other than your children or family members.
    • At least 19 and group leader qualified, have started and will complete within 6 month of hire 6 semester hours or equivalent quarter hours of college courses related to infant and toddler care,
    • An adult who is certified in infant and toddler care from an accredited college or university, with completion of a minimum of 30 semester hours in infant and toddler care,

    EXPERIENCE Over two years and up to three years experience with infants and teen parents.

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Basic writing skills and must speak English.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS Colorado Early Childhood Professional II Infant Nursery Supervisor Credential Required. First Aide and CPR certification required.

    SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Acts a resource for student aides and teen parents.

    JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING Work is assigned by Director. Work is guided by Adams School District 14 policies and procedures. Decision making requires collaboration with the Director of Building Blocks. Supervisor is always involved in decision making.

    SAFETY TO SELF AND OTHERS Low exposure to self and others to bruises, cuts, chemical and heat burns, fractured bones and disease due to playing inside/outside, contact with bleach while cleaning; kitchen equipment, falling from play equipment and changing diapers.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

    MENTAL FUNCTIONS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. Frequently required to compute, synthesize, evaluate and use interpersonal skills.

    SALARY: Depending on experience and the negotiated agreement. Adams County School District 14 is a direct deposit employer. All new employees must be fingerprinted per H.B. 90-1077 at a cost of $40.00 to the employee.
