Camelot Education is accepting applications for our Staff Accountant position.

Camelot Education is a nationally recognized organization providing educational services to children and adolescents throughout the United States. Camelot now has over 40 school campuses located in six states and is continuing to grow. Camelot provides Alternative Education services to inner city schools for children who have dropped out of school, been expelled or at risk for either: and Therapeutic Day Schools for students whose disabilities prevent them from attending mainstream public schools.

This Senior Account position is located at our central office in Austin, TX (South Austin) and reports directly to the Controller. Camelot provides its employees with growth opportunities, a casual work environment, and a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

• Primary responsibility is to create general ledger journal entries, review billing and payable entries, and create supporting schedules according to a monthly close schedule

• Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures

• Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis

• Prepare monthly account reconciliations

• Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances

• Assist with financial and tax audits

• Assist with corporate reporting requirements

• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls

• Other projects as assigned

Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance

• Strong understanding of accounting theory

• 3-5 years accounting experience

• Highly detail oriented and organized in work

• Ability to meet assigned deadlines

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus

• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives

• Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, and problem solving
