General Description and Goals:

The Comprehensive School Planning Speciliast (High School) for TechBoston Academy manages all aspects of the school's 21 st century Innovation Learning Plan. This position coordinates the school's comprehensive efforts to promote the 21 st century Innovation Learning Plan across each of the four academies that compose TechBoston.

The CSPC will manage all aspects of the school's comprehensive focus on "educating and including all students" by ensuring that academic, civic, and social programs provide a range of services and resources to best match student needs. The CSPC will also coordinate programs that support and nurture teachers as instructional leaders including orienting and supporting teacher-evaluators with the EDFS evaluation system. This position will also focus on building strong community relationships to support the Innovation Plan by working with the Governing Board to bring available outside resources and expertise to support teaching and learning. A 21 st century school is technology rich and uses its resources to prepare students to be highly skilled in literacy, mathematics, and scientific thinking. The CSPC will develop and support an innovation plan that enriches teaching and learning objectives through technology.

Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate the delivery and follow-up of all professional development opportunities of each learning academy as it relates to the comprehensive learning standards.
  2. Coordinate the peer evaluation component of the EDFS evaluation system as well as support teachers in each aspect of the evaluation cycle (goals, action plans, artifacts) in connecting it to 2lst century learning expectations (critical thinking and problem solving, collaboration, communication, personal development and self-awareness, and global citizenship).
  3. Collaborate with the Governing Board to develop community partnerships with local education and service agencies that can promote 21 st century Innovation Plan.
  4. Compile the annual QISP report for BPS and support all aspects of the accreditation process to ensure that school-wide rubrics are successfully implemented and used to promote 2lst century learning goals.
  5. In support of general achievement goals for all students, support faculty RETELL training and integration into teaching and learning across grade levels and academies.
  6. Coordinates school-wide civic/social programs that promote wellness, service, and positive school climate in light of the Innovation Plan.
  7. Builds and maintains effective community relations with agencies that support the school's civic and social goals.
  8. Performs effective needs assessments, feasibility studies, and a variety of other research functions to enhance school-wide civic, social and learning goals according to the Innovation Plan.
  9. Provides a comprehensive induction and mentoring program for all new and provisional teachers, as well as those seeking professional licenses.
  10. Performs other administrative duties as assigned by Headmaster.

Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in educational or management field.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Google technology skills and ability for data analysis and aggregation.
  • At least three years of urban education experience in an instructional role.
  • Ability to establish a comprehensive innovative educational program that enhances student, civic and social growth, an acceptance of diversity, and strong community relations.
  • Specialist must hold the following licenses: Special Education Administrator license OR Moderate/Severe Disabilities teaching license AND Principal/Assistant Principal license.
  • Establishes high expectations, deliverables, clear agendas and facilitates effective meetings.
  • Ability to train, supervise, and evaluate a wide variety of staff.
  • Experience in leading/advising high-quality mentor/mentee relations.
