Teacher Aide RPT - 10 month schedule
Initial Location: Hoover Middle School/District Floater
Hourly Rate: $13.10/hr. - $19.22/hr.
Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (6.5 hrs per day)
Anticipated start date September 3, 2019
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and; additional experience and knowledge in a particular field where specialized duties are involved; or have served in a community service organization, child-centered service or educational organization for a minimum of one (1) year; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Duties of Assignment: Assist individual student with personal care, mobility, and academic support needs. Providing student support in all academic areas that may include: behavior modification programs through encouragement and emotional development; provide direct supervision for student while attending academic classes and extra-curricular activities; provide guidance, support and proximity control throughout the realm of any given school day; duties may include lifting, feeding, and personal care duties that may include toileting and personal hygiene as noted on the student?s IEP. Building principal may assign additional duties as needed.
Special Qualifications: Patience; experience with special needs students desirable; ability to develop a good rapport with parents, counselors and therapists that provide a structured and consistent program for students; ability to keep and respect accurate and confidential records of academic, behavioral and family issues; must be a team player; once hired, additional professional training may be required.
