SUMMARY: The Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing, curating and maintaining content for K12 partner school owned social media channels. The role involves supporting the public, private, and institutional school community throughout the consumer lifecycle across various social media platforms. The Social Media Specialist helps to keep a pulse on the web for conversations related to, or opportune for K12 and partner schools. The position also assists with developing social media promotions, maintaining social media reports and social media related performance.

• Manages the company's partner schools, and select communities set up and management of social media accounts across various social platforms;
• Helps to create and execute strategies to build and maintain a positive reputation online using listening tools to find and participate in conversations related to K12, the public, private, and institutional schools we serve, and any related brands;
• Maintains community engagement for K12 and K12-partner owned social media channels, products and services;
• Compiles reports and performs analysis regarding performance and results across K12's social media platforms;
• Maintains awareness of social media tools/trends and applications as well as what is scalable for businesses;
• Handles customer service issues, resolutions, and proactively communicates issues, opportunities and insights to the team;
• Plans and posts social media content and ads (time of day, day of week, etc.) based on testing and optimization;
• Takes part in training for stakeholders, one on one or in groups, on how to effectively use social media and reputation management for business;
• Develops content to build customer engagement across multiple platforms;
• Assists in the development and execution of new social media promotions;
• Moderates user generated content to insure appropriateness and student safety;
• Authors blog posts and captures other content, such as images and video from K12 partner schools, as needed.
Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree in related field of study AND • Two (2) years of experience working in social media at an agency or corporate environment OR • Equivalent combination of education and experience OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of social media platforms like Sprinklr, Woobox, BuzzSumo • Extensive knowledge of Social Media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and others. • Photo editing and/or video editing ability • Writing and editing • Strong communication, project and time management skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel • Ability to pass required background check
