QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board with an endorsement as a K-12 special education teacher.

Other desired qualifications include: Excellent knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and procedures; understanding of and experience working with students with emotional/behavioral problems; knowledge of conducting functional behavioral assessments and implementing positive behavior intervention plans; willingness to work with teachers to plan cooperatively to benefit students; excellent classroom management skills; strong interpersonal skills; good public relations skills in dealing with professional and support staffs and parents; computer skills that include utilizing software for data collection, implementing curriculum-based measurement methodologies, and completion of online IEP documents; and willingness to participate on school and District committees and in required inservice activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION: This teacher will work closely with the ICARE team to address academic, social, emotional and behavioral needs of students placed in the program. The program serves children grades K-12. This classroom service expands the continuum of services offered to students with emotional disabilities. This position will work closely with community agency staff and parents in the development and implementation of comprehensive wrap-around services. In partnership with mental health, private counselors, and other community agencies, the teacher and related-services staff will team and plan coordinated services for students and families. In addition to supervising paraprofessionals, the teacher will closely collaborate with mental health professionals. Communication with parents and home school staff will be an ongoing requirement as will the implementation of a structured behavior management classroom system with data collection and evaluation being required components.
