Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center currently has an opening at our Buffalo location in our Oral Deaf School for a preschool Special Education teacher.
The special education teacher would be responsible for designing and implementing group lessons in a 12:1:1 classroom working with students who are deaf/hard-of-hearing to build listening and spoken language skills. The teacher works as a member of a multidisciplinary team in developing and implementing goals for each child's Individualized Education Plan. Parent involvement and education is an integral part of this classroom as well.
Requirements
-Minimum of a Bachelors degree in special education from an accredited university or college.
-New York State Certification as a permanent Special Education Teacher (prior to February 2004) or Teacher of Students with Disabilities (Birth-2)
