    Located in the West Metro of Minneapolis, MN, Intermediate District 287 is an education partner focused on innovative solutions for 11 member districts. We serve students in Setting IV Special Education, Alternative Learning Academies, Transition Services, Care & Treatment, Online Learning and more! Our healing trauma-informed community works together to achieve racial equity for our unique learners.The ISD 287 EL Program offers English instruction to students whose first language is not English. The principal duty of the EL teacher is to instruct students in English and help them acquire language skills to function meaningfully in mainstream classes.

    Intermediate District 287 is looking for a qualified English Language Learner (EL) teacher like you for a position at our South Education Center in Richfield, MN!

    Work Details:
    • Only work school hours (no weekends or long shifts) - 20 hours/week (.5 FTE)
    • Competitive salary

    EL Teachers will:
    • Facilitate learning, academic achievement and personal development by providing instruction to children, adolescents and adults
    • Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans
    • Partner with staff to establish language development goals and plan of service
    • Address the needs of EL students with various language capabilities
    • Address the varying learning styles and the needs of our diverse student population
    • Serve as an advocate for EL students by representing their needs to parents, staff, program coordinators, and administrators


    Education and Experience Requirements:
    • Interested in candidates who are: diverse, bilingual, or have experience working in diverse populations.
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
    • Current teaching license in: K-12 ESL, Special Education, Reading, English Language Arts or another license with the eligibility and interest in pursuing an Out of Field license
