UP Education Network manages and operates six schools in Boston, Lawrence, and Springfield, MA. We serve over 3,000 elementary and middle school students. UP is invited by local school districts to restart chronically underperforming district schools as UP Academies. Each UP Academy shares the same mission: to ensure that students acquire the knowledge, skills, and strength of character necessary to succeed on the path to college and to achieve their full potential.

Operations Coordinator
Grade Level: K1-8
Start Date: July 2019

Role
The Operations Coordinator plays a central role in ensuring a well-run, efficient, and responsive school. In addition to maintaining the school's systems and routines, the Operations Coordinator will support the School Leadership Team by completing various school-wide projects related to operations, school assessment and accountability, community relations, and strategic planning. The Operations Coordinator must be able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, families, trustees, donors, and visitors.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Manage middle school athletic programming
  • Oversee student attendance initiatives
  • Work with Boston Public Schools to manage student transportation needs
  • Develop and implement middle school student Enrichment programming
  • Implement and enhance the school's systems and culture
  • Develop the strategy and implementation plan for school-wide projects
  • Create an accountability plan to ensure the successful delivery of school-wide initiatives

Qualifications
  • A strong belief in UP Education Network's core values: Students, Community, Humility, Resilience, and Humor
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Current authorization to work in the United States - A candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment
Compensation and Benefits
Your salary is commensurate with experience; UP Academy follows the salary scales of each UP Academy's host school district. As an employee of UP Academy and your respective school district, you will receive the same access to personal and sick days, health insurance, and dental insurance as others within your union.
