An experienced Secondary IB DP Coordinator (with 50% teaching load) is needed at this very high quality bilingual international school in Shanghai from January (or August) 2020. The school opened in Shanghai in September 2017. They offer a 12 year education to Chinese nationals and the best of East and West with a unique curriculum developed by Chinese and international education experts. Part of a larger international school group, this school has excellent facilities that include a pool, theatre, gym, science and design laboratories and more. Western teachers and Chinese teachers co-teach in this cooperative learning environment.

The successful applicant will be an experienced educator currently who possesses:

• Excellent leadership skills with the capacity to drive pedagogical innovation and best practice

• Excellent interpersonal and administrative skills;

• Significant experience of teaching the IB Diploma Proramme;

• Knowledge of all relevant IB curriculum and assessment matters.

The person will be able to:

• Carry general credibility with students, parents, staff and IB professionals both within and outside the DCIS community;

• Speak effectively at public meetings organised to deal with IB issues;

• Think strategically across the senior and whole school.

Applicants must have a Bachelor"s degree in a relevant subject area (Master"s degree an advantage) and be a qualified teacher with at least 3 years of successful teaching experience with the age group and subject you are teaching - and with the IB DP framework. Successful experience in working with students in a pastoral capacity (eg as form tutor) and in a high achieving school. Previous experience in an international school is preferred. Some proficiency in oral Chinese Mandarin preferred and the ability to adapt to Chinese culture and work with Chinese colleagues. Please ask your Edvectus contact for THE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION.

The school offers a generous remuneration package and assistance with visa and medical checks required on entry to China. The package includes salary, international medical insurance, accommodation, annual airfare allowance, allowances for spouses and dependants, including school fees for up to two children.
