JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision provide required administrative secretarial services in a competent, professional and proficient manner while working cooperatively with staff members, parents, students and the general public.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Minimum of high school diploma or GED.Ability to type at a speed of 60 wpm with accuracy preferred.Ability to speak and write in the Spanish language.Working knowledge of general office and business practices and procedures. Five (5) years prior experience preferred.Ability to work effectively and communicate with the public, students and parents in person, on the telephone and through other means.Ability to work cooperatively with other members of the team.Working knowledge of the operating practices of the school system, preferred.Ability to use office equipment and appropriate business software, such as Microsoft Office, and a high level of proficiency in MS Excel.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Must be personable, professional, and maintain good attendance.Ability to work under general supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Implements office routines and practices associated with a productive and smoothly-run office, working as part of a professional team.Handles complex correspondence requiring subject matter knowledge and discretion.Interacts with students, parents, and/or general public coming into the office.Maintains a wide variety of office records, files and reports.Assist Director with mid-year and end-of-year reports, annual evaluation, annual Family Center Continuation Grant application, and any other reports due to Maryland State Department of Education.Directs other members of the team in preparing administrative and/or instructional materials as required.Maintains the same level of ethical behavior and confidentiality about the school system and its operation as is expected of all professional personnel.Maintains a professional and comfortable work area.Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Pay and Hours : This position is a part-time 12 month, 29 hours per week, hourly position with a rate of $15.00 per hour.
