Job Title: Budget Analyst, Extended Learning

Department: Extended Learning and Community Schools

L ocation: Acoma Office

J ob Type: Monday-Friday; Full-Time

S tarting Salary: $46,731

P osition Objective:

The Budget Analyst for the Extended Learning and Community Schools is responsible for managing all aspects of the DELCS' general fund and the 45 Fund 10/revenue budgets of Discovery Link working with site Program Supervisors and Regional Senior Supervisors to project and reconcile expenses for school year programming and break/summer camps.

E ssential Functions:

- Manage the financial activities for all DELCS budgets (44 sites, central DELCS, general fund - including Summer Mill).

- Track the monthly salaries and expenses to ensure that the amounts are accurately applied to the correct budget.

- Oversee and manage all assigned expenses and ensure payment of VISA bills. Reconcile VISA accounts monthly to ensure proper accounting of expenses.

- Manage data and evaluation systems related to budgeting

- Complete monthly analysis and reconciliation in order to process entries to correct any errors (budget transfers, journal entries).

- Meet monthly with site Program Supervisor to review site budgets; meet regulary with Regional Site Supervisors to analyze trending spends.

- Maintain, as established, a complete set of records to show financial transactions, including accounts payable and/or accounts receivable activities. Matches invoices received against purchase orders/requisitions. Pays and files invoices and/or prepares outgoing invoices from charge slips and forwards to customers.

- Work closely with community partners, DPS Strategic Sourcing and DPS payment services to process invoices for DELCS-run enrichment programs (28 sites).

- Manage independent contractor agreements and RFP recipients.

- Support department leaders, grants manager and Financial Partners with site level budget information during budget development processes.

- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with general accounting, budget and other departments.

Licensure & Certification:

- Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Education & Experience:

- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in budgeting and accounting, utilizing automated systems.

- Skillful attention to accuracy and detail; possess mathematic aptitude and proficiency with budget tools.

- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and specialized accounting and budgeting software.

- Proficient with bookkeeping and accounting software.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:

- Excellent customer services skills.

- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem solving skills.

- Ability to be accurate and pay attention to details.

- Demonstrated creativity and flexibility in problem solving and project collaboration.

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Knowledge of basic accounting and mathematical operations required for the position.

- Ability to develop new processes and identify improvements

- Ability to perform detailed calculations and stay focused on the project.

- Ability to travel to site locations as needed.
