Position Outcomes:
To provide design, management, and support services to all of the District's users of enterprise level applications that store and maintain sensitive information related to students and employees.
This person is a leader and key member of the Enterprise and Applications Team within the Technology Department providing system and application support to all of the school's users of instructional and administrative technology. This enthusiastic and solutions-oriented team designs, manages, and supports enterprise level applications. This person supports that mission by working within established guidelines, exercising initiative and independent judgment in performing duties and in staying current with information and procedures. He/she must work intentionally, be prepared and dependable while managing numerous interruptions, maintain a professional demeanor, and be exceptionally well organized.

Qualifications:
  • Degree in computer science, information technology or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years experience in application development, preferably in business process / workflow systems and experience with .NET development.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining applications that use Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Experience with Visual Basic and/or C# in the .NET environment.
  • Experience writing SQL queries, stored procedures and views.
  • Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices.
  • Strong understanding of standard relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Experience in developing documentation and procedures.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex systems from a technical, organizational and logical perspective; how they interact with the operation of the school district; and the impact and connection these systems have to different types of users (faculty, administration, support staff) and to departments in the school (Administrative Services, Business Office, Attendance Office, Registrar, etc.);
  • Ability to effectively utilize adopted technology management framework principles and processes.
  • Ability to complete multiple, complex projects; multi-task; meet frequent deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams, demonstrate exemplary interpersonal skills, communicate clearly with staff, students, parents, and the public and be customer-service oriented..

  • Position Expectations:
  • Manages and supports district enterprise applications such as Student Information Systems (i.e. student IDs, college applications, athletic management, special education, etc.), Business & Personnel Systems, Cafeteria System, District-wide Payment System and other software systems to support staff and students.
  • Supports district needs of customization by gathering requirements by collaborating with end-users, design a dataflow to finalize the deliverable; communicating, training, creating reports, and providing support as needed to district personnel.
  • Configures district and school set up in Student Information System including but not limited to: school calendar, school attendance, grading, enrollment, graduation planner, transcripts, etc.
  • Assists district set up in Employee Information System by setting up new employees, troubleshooting issues in Skyward, setting up summer school process, and generating reports as requested.
  • Creates staff and student user accounts in SIS/EIS utilizing HEAT Service.
  • Performs data audits and rectifies errors; and plans and executes the end of year rollover process.
  • Supports district reporting across systems (i.e. Civil Rights Data Collection, state reports, etc.) and performs institutional research as needed.
  • Assists staff with various data requests and attends to any helpdesk calls/tickets from school staff as appropriate.
  • Participates in and leads cross-training for User Support team members and lead initiatives as needed.
  • Supports the work environment by contributing to a culture where team members assume responsibility for high quality by initiating improvements, making revisions and recommendations, and/or helping others do the same.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
