General Description
Directs, coordinates and implements professional and educational activities for division personnel to improve individual and organizational effectiveness and to address succession planning for leadership positions.

Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of training design and development, adult learning theory, human resources management principles and practices and of research related to leadership and management strategies. Considerable knowledge of needs analysis, evaluation techniques and program planning and management. Skill in the operation of a personal computer, utilizing a variety of software applications to include database, presentation, word processing and spreadsheet software. Demonstrated ability to direct a system-wide program within an educational setting and prepare and present workshops and training modules. Demonstrated ability to think analytically, make decisions, work independently and plan and organize work; to work with all levels of employees and to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Requirements
Master's degree preferred and/or education and experience sufficient to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Previous experience in school administration preferred.

Essential Job Functions
- Establishes short-term and long-term goals and objectives for professional learning programs and activities that support the division's vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities.
- Develops, implements and evaluates comprehensive leadership and career development programs (Bush Institute, Next Generation Leadership Academy, SCOPE, Leaders in Pursuit of Excellence, Breakfast Leadership Series, etc.) to include a structure that involves teachers, central office and building administrators in learning.
- Investigates financial resources and grants that are available at the local, state and national levels.
- Manages the district professional learning management system to include the collection of professional learning program effectiveness evidence
- Establishes strong partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders including institutions of higher education and business/corporate leaders.
- Orchestrates the planning and execution of major district events (convocations, superintendent quarterly meetings, learning series, etc.) to include extension to Region I, state, and national partnering events.
- Coordinates across CCPS instructional departments to ensure that professional learning objectives and offerings are based on needs analysis, core competencies and strategic goals.
- Prepares, manages, and monitors all related conference center and Office of Professional Learning budgets.
- Supervises the hiring, management, and evaluation of conference center and Office of Professional Learning staff members.
- Manages the district tuition reimbursement program for instructional personnel and coordinates cohort programs to support high needs areas (ECA, Gifted, ESL,etc.).
- Presents workshops, professional development series, informational sessions, etc. within the district; leads professional learning outside the district as a representative of CCPS as requested by senior leadership.
- Directs the development, implementation and cyclic review of CCPS employee evaluation systems for support, teacher, administrator, and central office levels.
- Oversees REB for Leaders, Principals of Distinction, and other recognition programs.
- Manages a professional library for employee use.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
