The Director of Academics is responsible for the academic accountability of the school, manages all instructional programming and staff, collaborates closely with all other ISPA Leadership team members and K12 Inc Regional and National staff, and assists the ISPA Executive Director with special projects.
AS A DIRECTOR OF ACADEMICS, YOU WILL..
  • Ensures conformance of educational programs to State and local school board standards through evaluation, development and coordination activities; As needed, researches and implements non-K12 curriculum resources that meet State standards;
  • Directly Supervises Academic Administrators, MTSS Coordinators, Academic Professional Development Coordinator
  • Ensures that the school is meeting the needs of students while complying with local, State , and federal laws;
  • Helps articulate the school's mission and vision with the aim of ensuring all stakeholders have a common understanding and are positioned to work cooperatively in order to achieve desired results; Utilizes/relies heavily upon communication technologies and practices that most effectively support a predominantly virtual / remote work environment;
  • Confers with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems in school; Coordinates with instructional leaders, School Operations and K12 Enrollment
  • Collaborates with Director of Educational Data Systems to develop and implement school-wide data governance plan and to track/analyze data related to instructional programming
  • Collaborates Closely with Director of Student Service to ensure student and family engagement and leads instructional team in implementing engagement referrals in line with processes created by Director of Student Services
  • Develops policy with respect to implementation of the instruction and assessment model;
  • Manages the instructional components of the budgets in coordination with Executive Director and Senior Finance Manager

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Education AND
  • PA Supervisory Certification
  • Five (5) years of relevant Educational Administrative experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills allowing for effective interaction with parents, teachers and administration
  • Strong critical reading and writing skills in order to read and analyze reports, dis-aggregate data and write reports and memorandums
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge and proficiency in platforms and systems
  • Ability to pass required background check
  • Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance card OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises educational and instructional leaders and managers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
