The Academic Administrator directs and coordinates educational, administrative and counseling activities of middle and high school students by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
AS A Head Of School, YOU WILL ...

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The below State ments are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position.   • Ensures conformance of educational programs to federal, State and local school board standards through evaluation, development and coordination activities; As needed, researches and implements non-K12 curriculum resources that meet State standards;
  • Manages teaching staff; Manages Master and Lead Teachers and programs;
  • Helps articulate the school's mission and vision with the aim of ensuring all stakeholders have a common understanding and are positioned to work cooperatively in order to achieve desired results; Utilizes/relies heavily upon communication technologies and practices that most effectively support a predominantly virtual / remote work environment;
  • Confers with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems in school; Coordinates with teacher and K12 Enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals;
  • Ensures that the school is meeting the needs of students while complying with local, State , and federal laws regarding special education;
  • Develops and oversees implementation of the school's Comprehensive Continues Improvement Plan;
  • Assists in the coordinating and implementing of grade level meetings;
  • Assists with parent and student concerns and issues;
  • Conducts evaluations and observations per State requirements.

  • Assists with projects ad directed by the Head of School;
  • Requisitions and allocates supplies, equipment, and instructional material as needed;
  • Actively participates in all school leadership team meetings.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises on average 30+ teachers; may supervise considerably more depending on size/growth of school. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Education Administration or similar field of study AND
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

    Certificates and Licenses: Valid Applicable Indiana Administrative License
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong communication skills: written, oral, presentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to pass required background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience as an online educator
  • Previous Administrative Experience
  • Familiarity with student management systems
  • Familiarity with State graduation requirements
  • Familiarity with post-secondary opportunities
