The Director of Educational and Data Systems will serve as a key member of the school leadership team and will be responsible for identifying short and long-term data needs/goals and reporting strategies across teams and departments

AS A Director of Educational Data Systems, YOU WILL ENJOY...
  • Works closely with Executive Director and across teams to gather and distribute data
  • Provides in depth analysis and reports in support of key education related decisions
  • Works in collaboration with the K12 National and Regional support staff to implement technology solutions
  • Consults with staff and stakeholders to develop technology solutions in response to educational and operational needs, works closely with colleagues to accurately quantify issues in terms of data in order to more effectively problem-solve;
  • Collaborates with Professional Development Coordinator and across teams to develop and oversee training and implementation of processes that maximum operational efficiency and meet internal and external requirements
  • Manages and coordinates Student Information System to support student data tracking, course and grade reporting, and State required data reporting
  • Ensures the integrity of project data, including data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing and analysis; collects and collates appropriate data for usage in databases and conducting related research; responsible for administration, database design, security, and maintenance;
  • Analyzes data with standard statistical methods, interprets the results, and provides written summary of analyses; shares knowledge of analysis techniques and data coding with others
  • Communicates and collaborates with school team in discussing business intelligence needs and functional requirements
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to design and develop statistical analyses which addresses projected research questions; conducts research and collects data that helps to develop products and meet school needs
  • Participates in ongoing decisions concerning data collections, study design, methodology, and data analysis; identifies, develops and proposes alternative data metrics
  • Collaborates with the leadership team on the creation of a school-wide data governance plan and data management policies and procedures

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Education, Computer Science, Math, or a related field
  • 5+ years of data extraction, analysis, and reporting experience in an educational setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience synthesizing data for accountability reports
  • Demonstrated Project Management Skills
  • Strong Organizational and prioritization skills along with the ability to meet concurrent deadlines
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to communicate well with stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience creating and maintaining structured datasets
  • Familiarity with advanced Excel functions including VBA
  • Experience with relational databases - Access/SQL
  • Experience with coding languages such as Python, Java, or Javascript
  • Experience working in K-12 public education as a teacher or an administrator.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
