Technology & Learning Coach (Teacher on Special Assignment)

The Technology & Learning Coach position is a full-time position focused on providing peer teachers with the pedagogical support to effectively use technology in the classroom. This position requires a student-centered learning philosophy, creative problem-solving abilities, stellar interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work with adult educators, and eagerness to take a leadership role.

Salary:
Salary Schedule For Teachers Hired On Or After July 1, 2010 (starting at $47, 858 per year)

Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience required,

- Working knowledge of Google Classroom and Google education applications,

- Strong history of innovative teaching practices and building student aspirations,

- Able to clearly communicate powerful use of technology for learning,

- Strong understanding of pedagogy and instructional design,

- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage competing tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions

- Calm, patient, and positive demeanor,

- Creative problem-solver; ability to adapt and learn quickly,

- Excellent communication skills, and in multiple formats (multimedia, face-to-face, etc.),

- Eager to take a leadership role and empower others to do the same.

NOTE: Although facility with technology is necessary for this role, our coach must be focused on supporting teaching and learning, not on supporting IT or technical issues.

Essential Job Functions:
- Develop a system and provide direct support for teachers enabling and supporting increasingly powerful use of technology in the classroom,

- Provide exemplars of powerful use of technology to support student learning,

- Promote a strong learning culture within the school that values feedback and continuous improvement,

- Support the principal and facilitate teacher and student leadership teams,

- Collaboratively develop engaging learning opportunities with faculty and provide direct support in the classroom through modeling and co-teaching to improve teaching and learning,

- Actively participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities,

- Facilitate data collection at the school level for the purposes of research.
