    Part Time Position: .8667 FTE

    Position Summary: Under the supervision the the CCLC Grant Supervisor this position manages the grant-funded L.E.A.P. after school program, and summer school program at a designated elementary school site. The L.E.A.P programming schedule follows the JESS 9 month calendar. The L.E.A.P program also consists of an optional 5 week summer school program in June-July.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way to obtain these would be:
    • High School Diploma
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Valid Alaska drivers license required.
    • CPR, first aid and certification in a district approved behavioral management technique may be required.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Knowledge of 21st Century Learning Centers policy and procedure.
    • 12 semester college credits in early childhood development or CDA (Child Development Associate) or courses approved by the state childcare-licensing agency.
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Prior paid experience in working with children.

    KNOWLEDGE OF:
    • Regulatory and subsidy requirements as they affect CCLC.
    • Principles and practices of daycare/childcare.
    • Alaska Administrative Code for licensed childcare centers.
    • Personal computers and related software.
    • School district policy.
    • Early childhood development.
    • Child behavior management.
    • Principles of supervision.
    • Prior paid experience in working with children preferred.

    ABILITY TO:
    • Work and thrive in a team environment and work well with others.
    • Provide technical leadership in onsite daycare operations.
    • Review job applications and schedule staff.
    • Establish and work to a budget.
    • Plan snack menus.
    • Procure program supplies and materials.
    • Develop, implement, and enforce discipline strategies.
    • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Operate a personal computer and related software.
    • Maintain effective working relationships with other people.

    Compensation: This is a part-time 9-month position, working 32.5 hours per week, with a starting salary of $26.76 per hour. We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) plan, and paid time off.

    Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a records check.
