We are currently seeking a part-time Dance Specialist to work directly students in an after-school setting, leading small dance instruction. The successful candidate will be a talented dance educator with a strong dance background to share passion with high school aged students. The ideal candidate will possess the skills to engage our students to develop the skills of self expression through the art of dance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead small groups of students and create dance lessons
  • Guide students in rehearsal of appropriate dance routines
  • Prepare age, and skill appropriate, lesson plans to be reviewed by supervisors
  • Share a love of dance and an enthusiasm that enriches the lives of children
  • Teach weekly program sessions
  • Act as a role model for our students
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and professional development training
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements
  • A commitment to the mission and programs of HCZ
  • At least 2 years dance experience and 2 years teaching experience preferred; Bachelor's degree is a plus
  • Experience working with youth and adolescent population
  • A commitment to teaching and providing continuity on a part time basis
  • Ability to connect with teens and offer motivation and encourage self-esteem in youth
  • Must have strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent writing and communication skills
  • Must be able to work well within a team unit
  • Ability to effectively engage students
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, afterschool and evenings
