The Director, Regional Finance leads the region finance team in the execution of the management of K12 corporate finance activities and oversees the delivery of contracted financial services to the K12 client schools.
AS Director, Regional Finance, YOU WILL..
  • Advises on regional profitability and business unit management;
  • Directs forecasting and budgeting cycle for the region;
  • Monitors controls and compliance with corporate financial policies;
  • Supports regional business leaders in decision support and analysis;
  • Oversees and manages the work and activities of all regional finance staff;
  • Supports corporate audit requirements to include revenue assurance, and analytic support;
  • Oversees regional financial compliance with SOX and other programmatic and statutory compliance regimes;
  • Controls and protects the assets of K12;
  • Oversees the risk analysis and management process in the region;
  • Supports the business development team and the RVP with new program development;
  • Advises regional business leaders on resource optimization questions;
  • Leads the region finance team in the delivery of contracted financial services to the K12 client schools;
  • Oversees the stewardship of public funds towards the efficient and effective execution of the mission of the client programs;
  • Supports the HOS and RVPs in the management of financial matters with the independent school boards and State regulators;
  • Assists in the direction of the financial management and grants, and other restricted funding;
  • Prepares monthly forecasts and budgets for the client programs;
  • Assists in the preparation of capital and grant budgets for client programs;
  • Directs the filing of all required statutory reporting for the client program;
  • Manage program financial audits as required;
  • Customize, establish, and implement financial policies for each client program;
  • Oversee accounting, reporting, and cash-management activities from assigned accounting support;
  • Reconcile and manage payments and reimbursements to and from K12, Inc. relating to client programs.

Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Ten (10) years of public accounting and financial reporting experience AND
  • Three (3) years of experience managing people OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Understanding of accounting processes, procedures and internal controls
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Customer service orientation
  • Possess very good communication skills - written and verbal
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Ability to pass required background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Advanced degree in related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
