The Academic Analytics Researcher, Level 2 assists in the preparation, design and execution of research relating to the academic performance of schools and the impact of our products and services. The position participates as a member of the Chief Academic Office (CAO) function in identifying and analyzing school data, proprietary data, and third-party data to answer thoughtful and relevant research questions and provide draft research reports including identifying potential actions for improvement as well as cautions based on each analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The below State ments are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. • Performs research, data collection, organization and analysis related to academic performance and implementation of programs at K12 schools (public and private) and in schools that procure our courses to be presented by the CAO team for both internal and external audiences;
• Drafts reports summarizing academic research conducted and PowerPoint presentations that provide high-level overviews of methodology (design and analysis) and major conclusions, constraints or cautions, and next steps;
• Presents results of academic analysis in a thorough objective manner that can be understood by internal and external parties;
• Supports the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) and other key stakeholders to help develop systems related to academic data collection and reporting;
• Extracts data from multiple sources and assemble tables using pre-determined common identifiers. Scrubs, parses and sorts data based on internal rules, best practices, industry standards, corporate policies and research specifications;
• Collects data routinely and independently as requested to monitor and report on implementation of specific initiatives in the managed schools.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 1 - 3 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Analytics, Statistics or a related field AND
• Five (5) years of experience with a wide range of statistical methods and assessment strategies related to mining data to understand process improvement in the education market, both quantitative and qualitative AND
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in the field of K-12 academic research pertaining to school effectiveness and student achievement
• Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with other professional staff
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced computer skills, particularly with statistical software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
• Ability to pass required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Leadership experience in a school setting using data to inform instruction
• Awareness of current trends and directions in K-12 research, assessment, standards and compliancy/regulations
• Coursework specific to research design, evaluation, and statistical analysis
• Experience with producing materials for public review
