The Assistant Superintendent, School Transformation will monitor and coordinate instructional activities, resources, structures, and processes related to schools in need of targeted support. The Assistant Superintendent, School Transformation will supervise and provide coaching support to school leaders at their assigned portfolio of schools, and will coordinate with District leads to create individualized school level action plans and implement leadership development support structures.
Reports To : Deputy Superintendent
Salary :
Annual base salary of $132, 000, with the opportunity to earn an annual performance increment of up to $2, 000 as well as an annual achievement bonus of up to $10, 000.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Qualifications :
Candidate must be committed to continuous improvement with the fundamental goal of advancing student achievement in an urban public school district. In addition, we are seeking candidates with the following educational and experiential requirements and knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Pennsylvania Department of Education-issued Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility
- Master's degree in Education Leadership or other relevant discipline required
- At least 3 years as a school or district administrator required; transformation or turnaround experience in an urban school district preferred
- Ability to work cross-functionally across departments and engage multiple stakeholders in working toward a common goal
- Ability to lead teams of adults toward a common goal
- Must possess effective communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable about change management and quickly able to establish credibility among team members including partners, peers, and executive leadership
- Must possess strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of district, state, and federal policies, guidelines, laws, and rules related to public school education and school-accountability
- Must possess knowledge of School Improvement programs and the ability to set strategic goals

Essential Job Functions :
- Establish and implement a support strategy, that includes structures and processes, to increase academic achievement for schools in need of targeted support
- Collaborate with school principals to create individualized action plans for each identified school
- Develop and implement, or ensure the implementation of, a leadership growth and development structure for all school leaders supported
- Monitor the progress of academic programs within the department and provide guidance and support as needed
- Coordinate services and resources needed to schools in need of targeted support
- Provide guidance and assistance to school principals to facilitate their work with students, staff and parents
- Research and review new ideas and programs, and make recommendations for needed program changes for schools supported
- Monitor all academic, cultural, behavioral, and other relevant data points for identified schools
- Lead support meetings and analyze all academic, cultural, behavioral, and other relevant data points for schools supported to determine causes of low performance and advise on necessary school improvement efforts
- Serve as the evaluating supervisor for principals of schools in need of targeted support
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
