NOTICE OF POSITION

POSITION : The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

QUALIFICATIONS : Candidates must hold a Master's degree, and a New York State School District Administrator (SDA/SDL) or a New York State School Supervisor (SAS) certificate by the time of appointment. It is required that candidates must attach a PDF or screen shot of their certification(s). Candidates must have a minimum of five years combined certificated teaching and school administration or supervisory experience with a minimum of one year at the supervisory level . Candidates with prior leadership experience in an urban school district or in a district with an urban population are preferred, as are candidates who are proficient in the education law pertaining to Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR). Expertise/experience in data analysis, project management, systems management and staff development also preferred.

  • Able to communicate effectively with students, parents, community members, staff and administrators.
  • Must be flexible, detail oriented and able to prioritize and deal with ambiguity, and work well under pressure.
  • Able to multi-task and work effectively as a team member
  • Must have knowledge of district technology, including proficiency using eDoctrina for APPR, SLO and Assessment Management, Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Director for APPR, Assessment Management and Data Driven Instruction report directly to the Instructional Specialist III of APPR, DDI and Assessment Management. Candidates will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in providing the necessary Professional Development to all levels of district personnel regarding all aspects of the APPR, Assessment Management and Data Driven Instruction processes.
  • Coach and mentor all district administrators on every aspect of the APPR, Assessment Management and Data Driven Instruction processes.
  • Support district educational initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with faculty, staff and administration and other stake holders as necessary including in situations requiring tact diplomacy and discretion.
  • Participates in Professional Development activities to keep abreast of law, regulations and best practices related to APPR, Assessment Management and DDI.
  • Assist in delivering Professional Development to ensure inter-rater reliability (IRR) regarding teacher and principal APPR evaluations and classroom observations.
  • Assist with the training of all aspects of the APPR process falling outside the NYS Education Law.
  • Assist with delivering Professional Development to ensure the effective use of assessment data (DDI).
  • Assist in working with the different content area directors, supervisors and instructional departments to maintain and communicate the district assessment calendar.
  • Assist in serving as the eDoctrina Help Desk for the district.
  • Assist with the implementation, maintenance and training of the data dashboard and early warning system.
  • Assist with the School Review process and any other duty as requested.
