Licenses/Certifications
Valid Georgia driver's license required.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

Skills
Knowledge of technology related parts and systems; ability to define parts by visual observation; strong organizational and communication skills; ability to multitask various projects; demonstrated computer proficiency with inventory management systems; knowledge of inventory control and distribution practice of technology related components; ability to work effectively with minimal supervision; ability to analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement; and ability to act as a representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS).

Work Experience
Five years related experience required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

Acquire and manage inventory of parts, supplies, tools, and materials necessary to ensure the timely and cost effective maintenance and repair of technology provided by the district for schools and central office.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

1. Manage the purchasing processes and inventory through the ordering of parts while maintaining an adequate inventory of normally stocked items and special order parts and materials. Perform ongoing evaluation of inventory management
processes and operations.

2. Regularly complete all specialized and technical duties associated with inventory aquisition and management, to include development, review, and update of specifications related to the purchase of parts, supplies and tools.

3. Develop and provide projected parts usage data and identify potential price increases and report these to the Customer Service and Support Manager-Central Office and School Support.

4. Responsible for performing the research, making contact with, and selecting potential vendors to utilize in acquisition of parts and supplies. Responsible for making sure each vendor is in compliance with district purchasing procedures and
must ensure that vendor choice is based on best value, price, quality, and timeliness of delivery.

5. Responsible for managing the regular flow of incidents and work orders within the Incident Management System related to the assigned duties and responsibilities of the Parts department. Communicate in a timely manner with local
school and centrol office staff regarding status of incidents and work orders, and escalate any issues to the Customer Service and Support Manager-Central Office and School Support.

6. Train and supervise contractors in the procedures and process of obtaining usable parts from laptops, printers, or desktops and other technology devices for repair or delivery as assigned. Maintain an adequate supply of this inventory
at all times.

7. Properly evaluate potential issues and escalate any anomalies in our normal course of operations, in a timely manner, to the Customer Service and Support Manager-Central Office and School Support.

8. Comply with all applicable GCPS and Information Management and Technology manuals, processes, and standard operating procedures.

9. Participate in Enterprise Support Services Department team meetings and staff development.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands and fingers to touch, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or use/stand on a 6 - 8 ft. ladder. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
