POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator (Supplier Diversity) will be responsible for reviewig the current procurement process, identifying and reaching out to vendors who historically have not worked with Atlanta Public Schools, and ensuring the district has a robust pool of diverse vendors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Integrates the strategic economic opportunity plan into the overall procurement process
• Performs the identification, outreach and inclusion of contractors and vendors, with specific focus on small, minority and women business enterprises (MWBE) in the procurement of supplies and services
• Makes recommendations on various topics whether detailed, controversial, complex or simple
• Implements national best practices to increase minority participation in contracting and other business with Atlanta Public Schools
• Meets with potential vendors and city, collegiate and community organizations representing local businesses to encourage participation in the District's bid solicitation processes
• Creates, develops and implements supplier diversity initiatives and MWBE procurement goals
• Encourages interest in the district's contracting opportunities, sets participation goals, monitors firms' compliance with MWBE goals and assists in the process for firms to become compliant with MWBE goals
• Plans and conducts workshops and seminars for potential vendors
• Improves program processes, policies and procedures to minimize vendor diversity obstacles
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator
• Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated

Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
? Bachelor?s degree in business or public administration, business law, finance, purchasing or related field
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
? Valid driver's license and availability of private transportation
? Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE:
� 5 years of project management or strategic planning and implementation experience
� 3 years of experience in small businesses development
� Experience in a K-12 education or government procurement department preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
� Comprehensive knowledge of procurement/purchasing best practices
� Ability to develop guidelines, policies and procedures to ensure the equitable participation of minority and small businesses
� Knowledge of the current local business community, especially as it pertains to minority and small businesses
� Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
� Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities
� Ability to relate to a wide variety of people and to observe, listen, motivate and provide leadership which results in the best environment
� Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
� Ability to exercise strict confidence in handling sensitive information
� Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Compensation: Salary Grade: 133
Salary Range: FY'20 APS Salary Schedule (All Positions)
