Job Summary: Provides instructional support to improve all aspects of the educational program. Collaborates with colleagues in meeting the mission and goals of the educational program. Identifies program needs and works with instructional staff. Ensures the integration of best practices in Literacy, Math, Science or Restorative Practices. Ensures the implementation of programs and practices that support English Language Learners, cultural competence and equity.
Essential Functions
  • Monitors the performance of teachers through observations and one-on-one interactions and provides feedback to Principals; makes specific reference to areas where improvement has been evidenced and those where improvement is needed.
  • Designs and facilitate large group professional development.
  • Shares resources and innovative ideas related to early childhood best practices.
  • Utilizes supportive classroom assessment tools to improve teacher practices.
  • Support the performance of teachers through observations and one-on-one interactions and provides feedback to teachers and administrators
Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in education.
  • Three years of full-time, paid professional experience as an appointed, certified, special education pre-k, elementary or K-12 teacher in an urban school district.
  • All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • PA Common Core Standards and curriculum development, as well as implementation and instructional strategies related to curriculum, content and problem-solving.
  • current "best practices" in curriculum, instruction and assessment.
  • the principles, practices and methods of education in the assigned area for either math, literacy or science.
  • academic coaching methodology and practices.
  • a variety of pedagogical modalities.
  • research related to the field of expertise.

Demonstrated ability to:
  • use differentiated instructional practices for a full spectrum of learners.
  • use good interpersonal skills especially with peers, students, parents and supervisors.
  • communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships.

This is a 10-month, PFT-represented position. The salary grade for this role is 0202.

In addition, the candidate must have an excellent record of attendance and punctuality during the last three (3) years (defined as no more than eighteen (18) occasions of lateness or absence for personal illness within this period of time with the exception of one extended long-term absence)
