Summer Academies Operations Manager

Located on two campuses in Vermont, Middlebury Interactive Languages Summer Academy offers middle and high school students the opportunity to study Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, German, or Spanish with skilled language educators in an intensive four week immersion environment.

This position works directly with the Director of Summer Academies to foster the growth and success of all Middlebury Interactive Languages' summer programs.

This is a year-round position located at K12 Headquarters in Herndon, VA.

As the Summer Academies Operations Manager, YOU WILL . . .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Identify, initiate, and maintain business development opportunities with existing and potential partners, including partnerships with foundations, schools, and non-profit organizations interested in sending students to MIL summer programs
  • Work with various internal and external stakeholders to establish feasibility, market research, project scope, budget, personnel resources, enrollment goals and management, and timelines for each Academy
  • Provide day-to day management and oversight of Summer Academy budgets including designing, implementing, updating, analyzing, and maintaining financial forecast models/trends and business insight for Summer Academies in collaboration with K12 financial departments
  • Oversee contract negotiations with partner institutions, vendors, and independent contractors in collaboration with legal counsel, finance, and contract teams within K12, Inc.
  • Oversee all operational aspects of summer academies, including management of technology rentals, supplies and warehouse, domestic and international student and staff travel and transportation, event planning and serve as the campus relationship manager for the domestic summer site

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

  • Work with Enrollment Manager to determine and oversee Financial Aid budgets and distribution
  • Apply, manage, and develop reports for grants and scholarship from foundations, not for profits and other organizations. Manage the relationships with grant funders and plan any activities related to fulfilling grant requirements
  • Assist marketing team as needed with vendor oversight and contract approval
  • Conduct hiring and training for summer staff operational team

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree(s) AND
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in summer camps, program management and development, finance, marketing or related fields OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 25% of time.
  • Ability to pass required background check.
