QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a BSN with at least 2 years working experience.

Must be willing to work towards Pennsylvania teaching certification upon hiring.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.

The Instructor must possess the skills and knowledge to perform and instruct all aspects of a Certified Nurse Aid and related aspects of the McCaskey High School Health/Medical Assisting program's curriculum.

REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Career and Technical Programs and/or Principal

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist students in meeting their academic and career goals by providing an inspired teaching environment through the highest quality of theoretical, practical and professional training.

Assess clinical education needs using a variety of methods.

Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.

Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.

Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students.

Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students.

Evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory and clinic work, assignments, and papers.

Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.

Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of relevant equipment and materials to prevent injury and damage.

Instruct students in the knowledge and skills required in a specific occupation or occupational field, using a systematic plan of lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and laboratory, shop and field studies.

Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, collaborating with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.

Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.

Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.

Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.

Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction.

Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.

Prepare project materials and classroom for class activities.

Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress.

Supervise students' laboratory.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year. Salary to be established by the Board

EVALUATION: Evaluation will be determined according to the District's Professional Evaluation Plan – Observation/Supervision/Evaluation Plan.
