School Counselor Department Chair

The Farmington Public School District is seeking an outstanding educator for the position of FHS
School Counselor Department Chair. Farmington is a suburban Hartford community with a strong record
of educational excellence. Farmington High School has almost 1400 students and 100+ faculty
members.
The School Counselor Department Chair is an integral part of school and district leadership teams which are
committed to continuous instructional and programmatic improvement to ensure that all students
meet rigorous academic standards.
In addition to strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, candidates should have at
least five years of successful school experience in School Counseling and must hold or be eligible for Connecticut
teaching certification in School Counseling (068). In addition, candidates must hold or be eligible for Connecticut
Certification as an Intermediate Administrator (092).
Applications will be accepted until July 19, 2019. The application period may be extended if the
candidate pool does not represent the expertise and experiences in school leadership that is required at
Farmington High School.
Salary range is $46,625 - 101,032 depending upon education and experience, plus a $10,272 stipend for
department chair. The starting date is August 2019.
