Manager of Strategic Partnerships and Operations

Reports to: Principal

Terms: Managerial Tier C, City of Boston Residency Required

Partnerships:
  • Create and implement common system for partnership management at the school-level
  • Participate in forums and professional development that deepen knowledge and skills and enables coordination of services
  • Participate in collaborative school team meetings as needed including: Instructional Leadership Team, Student Support Team Meetings, Data Inquiry Meetings and other committees to bring a whole child focus to the school's work in order to both address barriers to academic success and foster the healthy development of students.
  • Based on needs assessment and identified priorities, facilitate development of partnerships with community-based organizations to provide academic support, mental health, enrichment programs, arts education, internships, summer employment and other services
  • Work closely with community organizations to ensure that students have access to the supports (academic, social emotional, health and wellness, enrichment) they need to be successful
Finance
  • In collaboration with the principal, overseeing and implementing fiscal policies and procedures, annual audit, budgeting, accounting, and deposits and invoices
Program Evaluation
  • Conduct program assessments and work closely with faculty and partners to improve the quality of programming and services
  • Ensure that partners align to the school and district priorities and expectations as well as the school improvement plan and the school's strategic plan
  • Work with partners to establish and document desired outcomes and expectations for their the partnership that are aligned to school priorities through school-based partnership agreements
  • Develop systems and monitoring practices to track and report progress towards these outcomes and hold partners accountable for meeting them
Operations
  • Supervise substitute teachers, including arranging for coverage, ensuring that substitute folders are up to date and available for monitoring and evaluating performance.
  • Coordinate MCAS-related issues: create whole school student database, prepare and administer tests and retests, attend annual training/workshop, coordinate tutoring, pursue MCAS appeals, and analyze and prepare data analysis to improve instruction
  • Manage and coordinate building use requests and permits.
  • Oversee, monitor, and continuously improve all daily school systems, special events, and scheduling (e.g., arrival, master class schedule, coverages, transitions, dismissal, academic data, field trips, family events, etc.)
  • Work with appropriate staff at the school in revising staff and student handbooks.
  • Work with appropriate staff at the school to create and distribute the school safety plan
  • Provide administrative support at critical times of the day, such as breakfast, lunch and dismissal.
  • Continue to seek and build new partnerships, with a focus on maximizing resources

Additional Projects
  • Performs other responsibilities as requested by the Principal

Qualifications Required:

• Associates/Bachelors degree with experience working with inner city youth in urban setting
• 3+ years of full-time work experience; 1-3 years experience preferably in an education or non-profit related organization
• Demonstrated passion for and commitment to the King's mission, core values and educational model
• Commitment to the success of all King students
• Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions
• Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
• Willingness to work autonomously, collaboratively, and/or under the direction of senior staff,as needed
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Extensive knowledge of social media platforms/tools and emerging new media
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Drive Suite
• Comfort and familiarity with student information databases (Aspen, SIS, etc)

This position is subject to the City of Boston Residency ordinance.

Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.

NOTE: School-based managerial employees will work 223 days between July 1st and June 30th each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school. School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based managerial employees need not report to work.
