Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Candidate must have a minimum of five years classroom teaching expereince
- New York State SBL/SDL certification preferred
- Candidate must demonstrate ethical behaviors
- Enforce rules and regulations of Niagara Charter School
- Perform a variety of administrative duties to assist the Principal and Assistant Principal in managing the school behavior issues
- Serve as a role model for students
- Develop and administer disciplinary procedures in accordance with school policies and state laws; receive referrals and confer with students, parents, teachers, community agencies, and law enforcement; respond to and resolve parent, student, and staff concerns and complaints
- Contact parents regarding incidents
- Review of discipline paperwork
- Collection of both student/staff data regarding incident reports
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of intervention programs that addresss the needs of at-risk students
- Observe and monitor student activity. Supervise students on campus before and after school; monitor students during lunch, classroom, hallway, and other activities; instruct students in appropriate behavior, discipline students in accordacne with established guidelines
- Monitor and organize attendance functions; prepare letters, call parents, and attend meetings as needed
- Crisis response
- Work with administrative team to establish a safe and secure learning environment for students. Develop plans for emergency situations in collaboration with other administrators, staff, and public safety agencies
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with students, parents, co-workers and management, including all faculties and staff at Niagara Charter School
