ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Bear Creek K-8 is dedicated to "Developing Minds; Inspiring Hearts". We are a unique K-8 school, as a neighborhood elementary school and an option middle school, with approximately 1100 students.

Bear Creek K-8 commits to being a diverse, inclusive environment where all students learn with no barriers or limits and are inspired with a passion and joy for learning. We take pride in our rich history. We build strong personal relationships, partner with parents and community, and provide a safe environment with clear, high expectations for behavior and academic achievement. Our 6-8 Middle School Option Program continues this vision by offering an inclusive, small middle school feel. Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $40,989 - $57,654

RESPONSIBILITIES

Required:
- Current School Counselor endorsement on a valid Colorado License.

- Demonstrated skills and abilities to ensure the success of all students.

- Experience working with students individually or in integrated settings such as the regular classroom, team meetings, and in cooperation with classroom teachers.

- Demonstrated knowledge of child abuse, neglect, and child protection procedures, as well as ALP, 504, SST, and Special Education Referral process.

- Effective communicator, demonstrated skills in team building, conflict resolution, decision making, time management, safe school planning, and facilitation of psycho-educational counseling groups

- Knowledge and experience with academic advising, registration and scheduling.

- Experience and willingness to implement programs related to the career and academic domains of the Jeffco Counseling Comprehensive Guidance Program.

- Excellent communication skills in order to facilitate communication with all members of the community, special ed. team members, classroom teachers, students, parents and administrators.

- Demonstrated ability in providing differentiation, interventions and extensions for students.

- Effective collaboration with teammates.

- Demonstrated commitment to team work and systemic programs.
