    Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree in Education related field, Counseling or School Administration is required.
    • Valid Michigan teaching certificate is required (prefer Secondary teaching certificate).
    • 3+ years secondary teaching experience is required.
    • Proven ability to work successfully with a culturally diverse community, staff and student population is required.
    • Successful demonstration in implementing B.C.P.S. instructional model is preferred.
    Major Responsibilities:
    • Supervise and evaluate aspects of the middle school program as assigned by the Principal
    • Maintain a proper level of discipline to insure a learning atmosphere
    • Assume responsibility for financial aspects of the school's operation in conjunction with the district Business Office as assigned by the Principal
    • Implement written policies and procedures
    • Collect data for school improvement
    • Implement curriculum for students
    • Administer Student discipline including expulsions and/or long term suspensions
    • Work with Counselor to create a safe and orderly environment
    • Supervise after school sports and/or programs
    • Attend P.T.S.A. meetings
    • Attend and participate in a leadership role at all district staff/principal meetings
    • Use and analyze data to support building goals
    • Use Skyward software to create a master schedule for the school
    • Use data warehouse and multiple data sources to develop a school improvement plan
    • Assist in coordinating Battle Creek Public School District's state assessment program
    • Provide staff management, including:
      • Human Resources management including labor contract administration
      • Evaluations
      • Support of new teachers
      • Monitor/supervise tenured and non-tenured teachers in the areas of Curriculum, Management, Relationship and Responsibility.
      • Work with non-tenured teachers to develop Individualized Development Plans (IDP's)
      • Provide co-teaching as necessary
      • Provide ongoing modeling of desired teaching behaviors
      • Attend and assist in planning school staff meetings
      • Management of physical plant
      • Maintain a public relations effort, keeping parents and other citizens informed of the school's program
      • Other duties as assigned
    Contract: 202 Work Days

    Organizational Relationship: Responsible to the Building Principal
