Position Title: Director of Student Services
Reports to: Chief Academic Officer
Terms of Employment: 12 month, salary and benefits established by Civitas Education Partners

Position Summary: The Director of Student Services (DSS) will be a service oriented leader that is responsible for executing the implementation of all student support programs (i.e. SPED, ELL, RTI, 504 and Mental Health) throughout the network. The DSS will build capacity at schools by collaborating with leadership, facilitating professional development sessions, and being a solid resource for strategies around supporting diverse learners.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Lead the facilitation of the special education and EL evaluation and services across all Civitas campuses
· Lead and support campuses in the refinement of the response to intervention (RTI) process
· Create internal monitoring tools (in addition to utilizing existing platforms) to ensure student service policy compliance with city and state regulations
· Refine and develop guidelines, policies, and procedures for the referral, assessment, placement and teaching of students receiving services
· Design and facilitate professional development sessions around inclusion, co-teaching, and other innovative student services best practices
· Manage relationships with vendors to support with campus teams with recruitment and staffing
· Manage Case Managers and School Based Clinicians

Qualification:
· Master's degree and appropriate IL certifications (PEL Administrative License) are required.
· Candidates should have a minimum of 5-7 years experience in teaching and/or administration in an urban public school system, with a focus on servicing Special Education students and families.
· The ability to manage multiple priorities and teams at different campuses, while remaining calm and following up with outstanding items.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative approach to problem solving, and attention to detail.
