POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director (Testing & Assessment) manages and directs all functions related to the daily operation of the district-wide testing program for all students, providing a comprehensive vision of assessment for the district. The Director is responsible for the compilation and reporting of district-wide student achievement data and oversees the adherence to all state and federal guidelines related to testing. The Director directs the Testing Center that houses, stores, compiles, and distributes all state-mandated and locally developed test materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Directs and manages the district-wide testing program for all students
  2. Plans, organizes, supervises, and directs the work of assigned staff (including consultants) in establishing priorities, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance
  3. Designs, develops, and manages district level assessment instruments in collaboration with district-level content leads
  4. Conducts training on instruments and the interpretation of the results
  5. Analyzes system and school level achievement data
  6. Plans, organizes, and manages multiple, large-scale and/or cross-departmental projects and plans and serves as a subject matter expert in assessment on district projects
  7. Ensures the accuracy of student test history within the student information and instructional management system
  8. Prepares detailed reports and communicates information (written and oral) to school officials, board members, and the public
  9. Ensures compliance with all state and federal guidelines and district policies as they relate to testing and assessment
  10. Administers and/or supports the federal, state, and local standardized testing processes and policies
  11. Maintains working relationships with administrative management and school site staff to support the integration of educational program management
  12. Responds to inquiries or complaints from stakeholders in a timely manner
  13. Represents the district in a positive and professional manner
  14. Involves stakeholders in the strategic planning process
  15. Consistently solicits stakeholder input and feedback during plan implementation
  16. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator
  17. Required to attend scheduled shift during regular/business hours as mandated

  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with District personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local testing processes and policies


Requirements: EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree required
Master's Degree preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

Possess or be eligible to obtain Georgia Professional Standards Commission Certification preferred?
Level 5 (L5) GaPSC Certification or higher in leadership preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 years in a leadership position in the educational K-12 environment
