Our client is an emerging company in the field of educational development. They seek a Senior Education Content Creator who can dynamically teach English to (mostly Secondary) students while also designing their lessons to maximise student"s soft skills including: social skills, empathy, confidence, patience, public speaking, time management, project management, leadership, emotional intelligence and critical thinking. Ideally this person would start immediately but they can wait until October or even January for the right teacher.

Within the company's Wechat platform is a service they offer called the "Treasure Box". This is a daily interactive activity for each of the core subjects (English, Science and Math) which users of the platform can give their children to solve. The activity should take about 20 minutes to complete and test the child"s knowledge in the selected subject. The Senior Content Developer is responsible for creating the treasure box content for English (predominantly for Secondary aged students), with each grade having three levels of difficulty. They are looking for someone who can create innovative and educational daily activities that will take the child approximately 20 minutes to complete. The activities will be delivered by the teacher to the platform in the form of video teaching. Class sizes are kept small so that the teacher can manage their students on a personal level and help them flourish. This is not an international school but rather an educational centre so working hours are 32 per week (Saturday and Sunday: teaching hours 7.5 per day and Wednesday-Friday: Office hours 16 hours)

Responsibilities: 1. In this role you will be giving English classes to small groups of 6-8 students on Saturdays and Sundays. 2. You will also be responsible for ensuring each weekly lesson is planned during office hours 3. You will create the content and activity for the "Treasure Boxes" during office hours 4. Record the "Treasure Box" teaching video during office hours 5. Give students a placement test and decide their level with supervision from your teaching assistant 6. Record students progress so feedback can be given to parents, you will not need direct contact with the parents as your teaching assistant will do this. 7. Mark the work of the student, including treasure box answers 8. Stay in contact with your Teaching Assistant (Chinese speaking) in case a student needs help with a "Treasure Box" during the week or if a parent has questions. 9. Create an engaging curriculum for English that will be taught to the students.

Candidates must have a Bachelor degree or above plus ideally a PGCE/PGDE (although a BA plus TEFL will be considered) and at least 2 years" teaching experience with the UK or US curriculum (preferably experience of teaching in an international school although they will consider candidates with sufficient experience from local high schools and training schools). Candidates must be a Native English speaker or Fluent English speaker (Preferably United States accent. They will consider natives from other native speaking countries) with strong organisational skills, great time management, excellent problem solving ability and good interpersonal skills, particularly with regards to children. The ability to design curriculum for English courses at most grade levels would be a huge bonus.

Salary is around RMB 15,000-30,000 per month (depending on qualifications and experience). Other benefits will be discussed at interview but it the candidate was well-qualified and experienced, they could include Housing Allowance, Flight Reimbursements, Health Care and other benefits. Contract length is 1 year renewable.
