Please note that this position is at our Circuit Street location in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
Role Description:
  • Meet regularly and mediate conflict with students referred from Student Support Team, classroom teachers, or self-selecting students who are struggling academically, socially and behaviorally
  • Maintain daily school wide discipline records, including merits and demerits, disciplinary infractions and consequences
  • Supervise implementation of detention and homework club
  • Conduct follow-up investigations for all infractions
  • Communicate with parents for send homes and suspensions
  • Conduct re-entry meetings for suspensions
  • Facilitate hearings including all compliant paperwork
  • Complete all DESE discipline reports
  • Mentor teachers in instructional issues impacting discipline and contribute to the  teacher evaluation
  • Ensure each classroom's compliance with discipline code
  • Develop and implement school wide classroom management professional development workshops
  • At the discretion of the Principal, either teach in or direct Freshman Academy
  • Additional duties, as assigned by the Principal or Vice Principal. 
Required Qualifications:
  • Belief that every student, regardless of background, can and must achieve academically at high levels
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 1 year of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience preferred, particularly in an urban setting
