PURPOSE:
The Hourly HR Assistant will provide prospective and current APS employees with affordable housing resources within the city of Atlanta, organized by cluster. Affordable housing resources include: down payment assistance programs, mortgage lending providers, rental properties and discounts (i.e. application fees, deposit, rent). By the end of the project, there should be a web site and print materials that contain all of the information about the resources available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Conduct internet research and make phone calls to identify rental properties within the city of Atlanta.
Communicate with rental providers to determine existing discounts they provide to public service employees, teachers and/or APS employees.
Negotiate discounts with properties that do not currently provide them.
Create an electronic data base of rental properties and discounts, organized by cluster.
Conduct internet research and make phone calls to identify mortgage lenders and down payment assistance providers with programs geared towards educators and/or public service employees.
Create an electronic data base of mortgage lending and down payment assistance programs, including details about the services they provide.
Partner with APS communications specialists and web designers to create a public-facing web site that contains all of the resources for current or prospective employees.
Partner with APS graphic designers to create a poster that can be displayed at APS work sites and flyer that can be distributed at new hire onboarding.
Present recommendations for design layouts and communications strategy to Chief Human Resources Officer.

Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently attending college in the city of Atlanta or graduated from an APS high school.
Knowledge of Atlanta area geography.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and grammar.
Ability to be persuasive and positive over the phone.
Experience using spreadsheet and word processing tools, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Google Docs.

Compensation: $14.00 per hour
Monday -Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
